The Ultimate Confirmation Experience
DECISION POINT is the first Confirmation program specifically developed to engage young
Catholics in a meaningful conversation about the genius of Catholicism. It teaches and
inspires teens to respond to God’s grace, and it’s changing hundreds of thousands of young
lives. Today, DECISION POINT is the most used Confirmation program in America.
Before we could create the most dynamic program available, we needed to understand what
was and wasn’t effective in engaging young Catholics in their faith. We conducted hundreds
of interviews, analyzed every Confirmation program available, and explored best practices
among other Christian churches and groups. What we learned shaped our entire program.
That’s why DECISION POINT consists of 72 short films, a student workbook, and a leader
guide. That’s why the content meets teens where they are in their everyday lives. And that’s
why the program is available for free.

SDC RE Resources - Confirmation
Here you can find a series of worksheets for use in Confirmation programmes or
printing at home. Our aim is to try to provide worksheets and other materials for
catechists and teachers as well as candidates following confirmation courses.
The programme is made up of twelve sessions. (Click here for topics and session titles). It is
intended to cover all necessary aspects of preparation that should be included in a
confirmation course. As in the case of all other worksheets on our website, these
confirmation worksheets, session plans and prayer sheets can be downloaded using Adobe
reader.
This programme has been designed with flexibility in mind. Though the progamme is designed for 12
sessions, the resources can be adapted for a longer or shorter course with fewer or more sessions as
required by different parishes. Sessions 1 and 2 for example could be merged to form one session.
One or two sessions can be done as part of a confirmation away day.
For those who would like to do the catechesis programme over more than 12 sessions, one could
extend work on some of the topics such as:
o Follow up to Unit 7: Extra session or two to discuss and work on moral issues and the
Catholic point of view.
o Follow up to Unit 10: Extra session to discuss and research about the life of the chosen
saint.
o Supplementary Unit S1: The Holy Bible: God’s Written Word.
o Supplementary Unit S2: God’s Law: Understanding the Ten Commandments.
These last two sessions are included in the programme below.

your students excited and engaged in the sacramental
preparation process. The Sacrament of Confirmation is a
critical sacrament in the life of young Catholics and should
be a positive and transformative experience that they
carry with them for the rest of their lives. Consider using
some of these activities for Confirmation with your
students to help them rejuvenate their baptismal vocation
and equip them with the gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit.

for Confirmation, containing a brief background essay and a list of helpful resources that can
be used to enrich the teaching of the lesson.
Also included in the lesson plan is a step-by-step process for teaching the lesson. This
lesson plan contains materials not included in the Faith First Grade 6 Catechist Guide and
focuses the presentation of the lesson as part of the sacrament preparation process. The
reproducible handouts contain activities that will help the students apply and integrate the

This confirmation material is based on reflections on Holy Scripture and the 1994 Catechism
of the Catholic Church. It was developed over three years of preparing teenage candidates
to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. Through Group Discussion and Class Activities,
this program can help Catechists teach from the Catechism of the Catholic Church in a way
that reaches our teenagers.
