Planned Parenthood is proud to be a source of sexual and reproductive health care, education, and
advocacy for men in the U.S. We’re here to answer any questions you may have about your sexual health.
Planned Parenthood encourages men to take charge of their sexual health with regular checkups and screenings,
as well as regular testing for sexually transmitted infections (STIs), including HIV, if they are sexually active.
• Men can rely on Planned Parenthood for men’s health services including STI testing and treatment, free or
low-cost condoms, and sex education and information to help them take charge of their sexual health.
• Many Planned Parenthood health centers offer additional services for men, including cancer screenings,
vasectomies, infertility screenings and referrals, erectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation support,
urinary tract infection testing and treatment, physical exams, PrEP and PEP for those eligible, treatment for
other conditions, and referrals.
• PlannedParenthood.org offers information online about men’s sexual health, including a program that lets
young people live-chat with a trained health educator in real time by text or by instant messaging. We’re at
www.plannedparenthood.org/chat or you can text us at 774636.
Planned Parenthood’s doors are open to everyone — regardless of gender identity, gender expression,
and/or sexual orientation.
We strive to provide health care that is inclusive and respectful of all genders. We believe that all people deserve
high-quality, affordable health care and accurate, nonjudgmental sexual health education and information, no
matter who they are. We know that when people are truly cared for, they make their lives, their families, and their
communities better and healthier.
By the numbers
• In 2014, Planned Parenthood health centers nationwide served more than 250,000 male patients.
• In the last 10 years, Planned Parenthood has doubled the number of male patients we see nationally for
health issues that affect men: Between 2004 and 2014, there was a 76 percent increase in Planned Parenthood
male patients.
• 23 percent of the services we provide for men are HIV tests, 30 percent are gonorrhea tests, and
30 percent are chlamydia tests.
• Every day, Planned Parenthood works in schools and communities across the country to provide high-quality
sex education programs. We serve young men through our sex education programs and outreach, which reach
1.5 million people each year.
