Scout Oath: On my honor I will do my best, to do my duty to God and my country, and to obey the Scout law; to help
other people at all times; to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight.
Eagle Scout Letter of Recommendation
Instructions to Scout: The people you have listed on Requirement #2 on the Eagle Scout Rank Application are asked to write a
recommendation letter. The only reference line that may remain blank on the application is “Employer – if any”, if you do not have a
job. If you do not have someone to ask for a Religious recommendation letter, please list a parent (as the default). The Letter of
Recommendation is confidential and not returned directly to you. You should provide your reference with a stamped envelope
addressed to the person in your troop/crew who will handle your Eagle paperwork. (Scoutmaster/Eagle Coach/Advancement Chair)
Your troop/crew leader will hold your letters until your completed paperwork is ready to be submitted to the council office. The letters
can be put in a sealed envelope for you to include with your completed paperwork.
Instructions to Writer of Recommendation: This letter of recommendation should be based upon your personal interaction with
the Eagle Scout candidate. You should take into consideration your observation of how they exemplify the points in the Scout Oath
and Scout Law. (Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean, Reverent). If you
need more space than is provided on the lines below, you may attach an additional page. You may address a letter to: The Eagle
Board of Review. Return the confidential letter in the envelope provide by the Scout. The confidential letter should not be shared
with the Scout.

candidate. Please do not open them or share them. They are solely for the use of the Eagle Scout Board of Review members.
Please include the letters with the Eagle Scout completed paperwork submitted to the council office.
