Hunter Douglas Has Done It Again!

T
he skin is the largest organ in the
human body, exquisitely designed
to handle the intrinsic and extrinsic
factors it faces on a daily basis. Sometimes
our skin will erupt with an undesirable
embarrassing condition. It is very important
that we understand why our skin is reacting
the way it is at a particular time.
Before we apply acids or subject
ourselves to daily exfoliations, it is
important to understand that the outer
layer (epidermis) is made of mostly dead
skin cells. These dead skin cells serve as
an effective barrier to fi lter and protect the
dermis from UV radiation, environmental
toxins and dehydration, protecting us from
infection…and it’s the very layer you are
trying to remove.
The fact is, the dermis thins at a rate of
one percent yearly, starting in our 20’s. Our
epidermis measures a mere .33 millimeters
thick. Yet, in today’s skincare industry,
exfoliation has become the thing to do, yet
